Eh, I used this specific turbo because of #reasons and it can’t really work without it. Probably going to change gears and go a completely different direction with this because of course I am.

Nah. It’s because freewheeling a turbo is bad for it, and I had no idea. I’ve been driving around with the turbo on the car and no intake stuff installed, which has been making the turbo spin faster than it’s designed to. This kills the turbo. Right now the car runs and drives but as soon as I approach 0psi it blows TONS of oil out the exhaust and refuses to make boost. I think the seals are so shot that all of the pressure is leaking through the turbo directly to the exhaust, taking copious amounts of oil with it. If this is the case I’m abandoning this turbo and going with something a bit different.

Do you ever decide on a direction on one of your cars?

Just go ahead and lift it with an LS and a rear mount radiator and turbo.
